Bugan; geological and structural setting

The Bugan field is a wedge-shaped, tilted horst block and fault/dip closure on the east flank of the Iron Duke structure. The M30 and N10 reservoir sands are thinner and more heterogeneous compared to the stratigraphically younger reservoirs of the Iron Duke Main field. Porosity and permeability are slightly higher. The average porosity in Bugan is up to 28 % and permeability up to 3,000 mDarcy (3 m²). The reservoirs consist of shallowing-upward sequences, with outer-shelf sediments at the base and lower coastal plain deposits at the top of each sequence.
