Palynological Characterisation of Depositional Environment: Montane

In Brunei today there is insufficient relief to support significant montane vegetation, except in the southern parts of Temburong (Figure 1.3).

Phyllocladus, Podocarpus, Dacrydium, Casuarina, Myrtaceae, Ericaceae and Compositae are current montane pollen producers although not necessarily restricted to that environment (Muller, 1972).
