Panaga, November 18, 2025 – BSPCares partnered with PERTIWI to host a special pop-up market dedicated to support and empower local women entrepreneurs.
The market, themed “Her Hands, Her Hustle” is designed to provide a platform for women in the community including single mothers and widows to promote and grow their small home-based business.
“At BSPCares, we are committed to leveraging our resources and network to give back to the community in which we operate. This collaboration with PERTIWI provides a meaningful platform to showcase the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of women in Brunei," shared Wani Abdul Gapar, BSPCares Coordinator. "By supporting and uplifting these homegrown businesses, we aim to help empower women financially and contribute to the broader goal of fostering a resilient and inclusive community.”
They offer diverse range of high-quality local products including local snacks and traditional dishes as well as hand made items such as woven trays. Attendees also have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of the production of the handicrafts.
The "Her Hands, Her Hustle" market displayed the collaboration of both organizations to support economic inclusion and celebrating the talent within the local Belait community.
About BSPCares:
BSPCares is a volunteerism programme that initially launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Brunei to allow BSP staff to provide support and contribute towards the national COVID-19 relief. These activities included support and relief for socio-economically challenged communities.
In 2021, BSPCares continued as a company-wide volunteering programme which include as a platform for BSP staff to demonstrate care and community contributions. Since 2019, this platform has recorded more than 48,000 volunteer manhours.
